My experience with writing as a healing tool began way before I knew how I was using writing. Let’s just say my teenage years to early adulthood were complicated (I share more in the course about my personal story). The only thing that would quieten my racing mind was writing. I didn’t care about much else as a moody, reclusive teenager, but I could see a future for myself in writing.
This course isn’t a magic pill or a quick fix. It’s not a ‘fix’ because I don’t believe anyone is broken. We all have experiences in life that are difficult to digest. And at some point, stuffing everything down or pushing things away stops 'working'. Our body tells us something is off; often, we fail to listen until we’re forced to listen.
Writing as a healing tool requires work on your part. There’s no way around that. However, if writing proves to be a tool that works for you, it can help you to heal.
I’m not here to tell you how to feel or to convince you that writing can solve all of life’s problems.
