The Cambridge Dictionary defines an empath as “a person who has an unusually strong ability to feel other people's emotional or mental states.” When I close my eyes, I can instantly take myself back to several funerals where everyone else’s collective grief has overwhelmed my senses. I know I’m not feeling my own grief because I barely know these people who have passed away. On one occasion, I was more familiar with the person who had died. I recall finally making it outside the church after the funeral, the fresh air hitting my skin and being unable to hold the emotions in. I burst out crying in front of several people. I felt so embarrassed. 

Astrology, human design and gene keys

According to Lana, energy is our first language, and our astrology, human design and gene keys charts contain a wealth of information about what makes us tick as unique souls. Lana is much more than the fancy title of an Intuitive Business Mentor. She’s a medium, an astrologer and recently, has been blending astrology with human design and gene keys. I can’t recall exactly when I connected with Lana, but I know we’ve been in touch for years. 

In early 2025, I participated in one of Lana’s beta programs, so when I heard she was running an Energy Alignment and Activation 3 Day Challenge in 2026, I immediately felt drawn to participate.

If you’ve read up to this point and are hearing ‘woo woo’ alarm bells ringing, consider this: What I love most about Lana’s teaching style is that everything is grounded in the here and now. There is no fluff or forcing. She always creates a safe container for people to be authentic, which is important because this work can get real deep, real quick.

What makes Lana’s work different is that she blends astrology, human design, and gene keys. I’ve come across many experts in each modality, but never anyone who blends all three. And full disclosure: Until working with Lana last year in the beta program, I wasn’t all that familiar with gene keys. What I found most helpful about participating in the recent three-day challenge was that it felt like a refresher on what Lana had shared with me roughly 12 months ago at the time of writing. 

Reflecting on 2025

Anyone who engages in personal development and is honest will admit that participating in challenges and consuming information are the easy parts. Implementation is where the rubber hits the road, and this certainly was the case for me in 2025. With the benefit of hindsight, as I reflect in early 2026, I realise that even after my sessions with Lana last year, I found myself lost for most of 2025. Bottom line: I listened to others too often and failed to follow my own intuition. 

In November 2025, I had a revelation about Storytelling for the Soul that hit me like a brick. I’d created so many offers because I thought that’s what people wanted from me. Unfortunately, I found myself misaligned and, to be frank, miserable in my business. Because while I was spending all my time creating offers and filming Instagram videos to ‘be seen’, I had no time to do what I consider my soul work: writing from the inside out. I’ve come to understand that writing as a form of expression is not optional for me.

I recently had the privilege of taking a month off. After much reflection, I realised the biggest missing piece throughout my life has always been self-trust. Maybe you can relate? Lana told me very clearly during our one-on-one sessions together to follow my intuition and gut. I didn’t last year and ended up following a pattern I’m aware is recurring for me. In the pursuit of what I believe in with everything I have—the power of writing—I allow myself to lose my way to make my business ‘work’ from a financial perspective. 

I’m drawing a line in the sand now. I write content that is meaningful, and I hope people read what I have to share. It’s that simple for me. I’m not here to ‘prove’ that writing ‘works’. So, what does any of this have to do with Lana’s teachings?

A lot. As part of the beta program, I received the recordings of our three-hour-long sessions together. One session covered my astrology chart, another my human design and the final session covered gene keys and bringing all three modalities together. I rewatched the sessions during my month-long hiatus from my normal life and was stunned. Everything made more sense in December 2025 than it had in February 2025. 

I realised how far away from my path I’d veered. I’m in the privileged position of being hyper aware that what I am seeking at this time of my life cannot be purchased. What I desire comes from the soul. To put how lost I found myself last year another way, if I were on a plane intending to fly from Australia to Malta, I’d somehow wound up in the equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle. And I created this scenario myself.

It’s impossible for me to cover every gem unearthed over the course of three hours as part of the challenge. However, I am a dedicated participant and took notes. So, I’ll share some takeaways that struck me and may be helpful without additional context. • Understanding your Energetic Signature is a game-changer across every facet of life. Just like your written signature, your Energetic Signature is unique to you.
• People are drawn to our energy. This landed for me because when we are misaligned, people can sense something is ‘off’. 
• The answer is always inside us. This speaks to me because, especially in business, I feel like I’ve spent 10 years seeking people who can give me the ‘magic formula’ to build what I desire. There’s no magic formula. People and experts may be helpful, but it’s on me to lead with and trust my intuition.

Life is a journey, as is business. I’ve been building Storytelling for the Soul for over three years now, and somehow, I feel like I’m just waking up. My internal compass has never been clearer, and I hope you will help me to continue creating whatever Storytelling for the Soul becomes.
